Okoboji's party bar. Popular with locals and tourists. Indoor/outdoor seating. Sports on TV. Bands often play. Wild/fun staff. Great access by boat and car. Good times.

Our waitress on the deck was clearly having a bad day before we ever got there. Suddenly when it came time to (finally) deliver the check, it dawned on her that tipping can correlate to a pleasant encounter. Too late. If you're going to cater to a crowd, you could, you know, cater to a crowd. Noise level from the band tuning electric guitars and pounding on drums added to the charm.

Thought it was the best bar on the lake. Ample enough seating on the patio, not too large that it overflows. Good food and drinks, great little dive bar nothing too fancy. Will be first stop on the lake if ever make it back.

What's not to love. Food is good (my favs are the pizzas and The Hog sandwich), the beer is cold, fishbowls have lots of booze, and boat up access. Its not the cleanest place but is a bar do it can be forgiven.

My fave spot on the lake for years. Good bar food, good people. Biker motif works fine for me - I have 2 Harleys and they have both been to The Ritz

Stopped in for lunch the other day. Ordered some pizza and wings. Both were tasty. My only complaint was that our server slacked a bit. Had to ask multiple times for some things, and also had to ask for refills every time our glasses were empty.

The pizza is decent. The patio atmosphere is good (if you're drinking). The prices are too high for the quality though. $23 for a pizza is insanity. For the price of about 7 pizzas you can get a flight to Chicago and eat pizza there. Also, the place is desperately in need of a remodel. If you ever need to film a movie scene set in a bar in 1986, this is your place.

Our local friend suggested this place as he claimed they had the best burger in town. And apparently it also has the number 2 burger in the state. When we walked in on a Friday night this place was packed. We milled around for a bit looking for a table when we spotted a couple just getting up from their table and swooped in and sat down. Despite being swamped our server did a great job of serving our table. Our wait for food and drinks was not bad at all. We ordered a fish bowl of Long Islands and wow, it was strong, but delicious. I ordered the Ritz burger and I understand why it is ranked so high. It was awesome. And huge. And I probably shouldn't have eaten all of it but I needed something to counteract the fishbowl.

Service sucked. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Never got the chance to order food. We left.

Although I can't complain about the food this place is absolutely filthy! Inside and out! Don't take a peek in the kitchen you'll want to throw up! I can't believe this place passes inspection! However the burgers and the quesadilla are very good I just can't get over the grunge of this place!

Best pizza and burger in the area hands down. Their burger is usually in the running for top burger in Iowa every year. Pizza is also handmade no frozen or pre-made pizza, but beware this place is a popular drinking and eatery don't be upset if you have to wait I've never been there and they weren't busy.

The following review is based on actual events that took place on Sunday, August 24th, at 1pm. Myself and four of my friends JUST left The Ritz and I'm currently writing this review from Bracco. When we arrived at The Ritz we were originally seated outside. It's currently 88 degrees outside so it wasn't the most comfortable and we were not seated under any shade. After waiting to be so much as greeted by a staff member for 15 minutes, we then decided to look inside for an open table in hope that it would be cooler and that we may be more likely to be served in a timely manner. We found a table near the door inside and again waited to be served. After waiting another 15 minutes we finally pulled an older woman, the one who originally say us, to the side to ask when we may be served. She then informed us that she didn't know because she didn't even work there, she was only volunteering by clearing and cleaning tables because the entire bar had three servers working because "a lot of the servers went back to school". That's right. Three. There is approximately 40 tables at The Ritz and nearly every one was occupied. The old volunteer said she would go and try to get us water and find us a server. Roughly three minutes later she brought us water and while drinking she had one of the three servers working stop by and she told us that there would be a one and a half hour wait on food. At that point we got up and left. I'm not upset with the waiting staff, they can only do so much. It is a complete and epic failure on the part of management to only have three servers working on a weekend during a prime rush hour. In short, if you're not hungry, perfect. Go to The Ritz. By the time you're served you'll be starving.

Never ever ever again....couldnt be worse in service. Absolute disgrace. Pitiful. If I wasn't with family I would have walked out. Like a bad episode of bar rescue. It took an hour and thirty minutes to get a pizza that tasted like a digiarno pizza. awful awful awful. Everything bad x1000

Poor service and overrated food. We were there the weekend of 8/7/15. Place is on the water and has a nice atmosphere with an outdoor patio as well as indoor seating. We were a party of ten people and were glad to be able to find a table, it all went downhill from there. We did not have to wait too long to get our order taken, what we did have to wait a long time for was our food. At best, we waited an hour and 45 minutes before finally being served. At about the hour and 40 mark I went to the waitress and politely told her that if our food was not served in the next five minutes we were going to simply get up and leave. Sure enough, within a few minutes the first thing they put on the table was the one pizza we ordered, after that was out on the table a few minutes they began to bring out our burger baskets as most of us ordered burgers, after all, the place is known for its burgers. Before I could take a bite, the owner approached me. Instead of apologizing to me about the wait he said he was told that I was rude to the waitress. As the good lord above as my witness, I was anything but rude. Was I factual, yes, was I very matter of fact, yes, but I was far from rude. Anyway I explained how long we waited and asked for 20% off our bill, he refused and said that the reason our food took so long was because the pizzas were taking a long time. Interesting considering the pizza was the first item that was served. We continued to talk, he begrudgingly offered 10% off. He was more defensive than what he should have been which is apologetic. After he left our table, I was finally able to eat my famous Lue burger, it was awful. I am going to guess it had been sitting under a heat lamp a long time because the bun was crispy and it crumbled. The burger was like a dry meatball, all in all it was one of the worst burgers I have ever had. My 13 year old son even commented that the burger he recently ate at Perkins was better than his Lue burger. I will never go back to this place and would forewarn others the same. Good place to sit and have a drink, terrible place to eat.

It's "rare" that I would rave about a burger, but the Ritz knows how to do it. Even better when served with a Cyclone victory. A good burger should not require bacon, cheese or exotic condiments for good flavor and texture. Just had a Lue burger at the Ritz this eve....done to perfection (simply seasoned with some moo remaining) on a plain bun with crisp veggies. Moreover, the fry cook at the Ritz sizzles at the perfect temp to retain the juice and not to "flatten" it or over cook it dry. Kudos to the burger King of the Grill.

Way over priced. Pizza is mediocre at best. Tourist trap. Quite forgettable. 3 pizzas $65.00!! To go! Where is Little Caesars?

Wanted a burger and beer so when I read that they had one of the best burgers, I decided to give it a try. Service was slow at first but once I got the bartender's attention, my orders were prompt. Ordered the Lue CB which is their basic burger. I would not say it is one of best. It was cooked well done and wasn't juicy. FF were crispy. Three beers, CB, and FF was $20. That seems to be in line with prices of other places in the area. Probably a good night spot, but was a little disappointed.

Worst and slowest service ever. Not worth waiting for if only want average bar food.

I have a love-hate relationship with the Ritz. Let me count the ways: 1. There's not much for beer on tap, but they do have a couple of OK choices like Blue Moon and Fat Tire. 2. It can get really crowded outside and sometimes your only option is to sit in the beating hot sun, but you can usually find a table inside. 3. The crowd can get pretty sketchtastic at times, but on the other hand, EVERYONE comes here. 4. The service is slow, rude, and inefficient, but that's sort of part of its charm. 5. It's a biker bar so occasionally the noise level gets out of control, but on the other hand, it has a big beautiful patio on the lake. 5. The fishbowls are strong, but... the fishbowls are STRONG. I mean, knock you over, live your own personal version of "The Hangover" strong. That equals out to an "A-OK," three-star rating for me. I love going to the Ritz for a midday snack (usually pizza and nachos) but I always visit with a little trepidation. Oh well, I know I'll be back!

Fish bowls are their speciality and cold bottle beer taste great on the deck! Taylor is an amazing host and treats everyone like a local. You havnt been to Okoboji with out a trip here!

TERRIBLE service TERRIBLE foods probably thrive on ppl benign drunk and not knowing what their eating or time elapsed. Pizza burnt on bottom and cheese not melted, took the waitress forever to take our orders and to serve, not very friendly to large groups AT ALL. Very much made to feel like an inconvenience. Never again...

Not so much a fan of this place after a female bartender insulted my girlfriend and I for not ordering our $25 fishbowls fast enough. There are plenty of other great bar choices in the area which I would highly recommend before visiting the Ritz on your nights out. They include: CAPTAINS GETAWAY (Great live entertainment & staff), THE GARDENS (in the Central Emporium near Captains Getaway- with great food, great staff, live entertainment with optional outside seating overlooking West Lake Okoboji), COCKTAILS (Awesome Kareoke Saturday nights), THE BAREFOOT BAR (Located at Parks Marina on East Lake, always a great summertime outside fun bar with live entertainment), BRACCOS (Another great summertime outside fun bar but with great food minus live entertainment).
